IB Teachers Meet At TAC
Tarsus American College was the host to many leading IB schools of Turkey including Özel Bilkent Lisesi, American Collegiate Institute in İzmir, TED Bursa Koleji, Gaziantep Kolej Vakfı, ITU Geliştirme Vakfı Okulları, Bilkent Erzurum Laboratuvar Okulu. In this gathering of coordinators and teachers of Turkey in the 20th Century and Language A Tutkish: Literature courses, the groups were divided into subject areas and exchanged information related to IB following the opening remarks of TAC’s IB Coordinator Hakan Sapmazlı at Stickler Auditorium. The Language A Turkish: Literature session, facilitated by Mr. Önder Şit, TAC’s Turkish Literature Department Chair started with the introduction of the attendees and their sharing of expectations from the event. One of the focal points were common approaches and new practices in teaching. There was a sharing on comparative essay writing, followed by changes on extended essays. Also the sharing of teaching methodologies, success stories, challenges and suggestions for better practice made the meetings highly effective.
The meeting of the IB teachers teaching Turkey in the 20th Century was facilitated by TAC Social Studies Department Chair Nal Baran. Feedback was given about previously announced sub-topics, suggestions for improvement shared and new decisions were made. Making a prioritized list of topics for discussion contributed to a very rewarding meeting.
This special day concluded with a snapshot of the group on the steps of Stickler. yılı ile ilgili duygu, düşünce ve temennilerini dile getirdiler. Şu anda Tarsus Amerikan Koleji’nde 10. Sınıf’da okumakta olan 2013 mezunlarımızdan Mert Karanfil ise kürsüden öğrencilerimize seslenerek bir Tarsus SEV’li olmanın kendisine kazandırdıklarından bahsetti.Bu vesile ile herkese sağlık ve başarı dolu bir yıl dileriz.
