French Lessons at TAC

TAC students continue to explore France and French culture through many activities in their French lessons.

Students who take the elective are assigned projects through which they develop their research skills on a given topic, expand their vocabulary and hone their writing, speaking and presentation skills.

Instruction in the French lesson makes use of various teaching and learning methods and lesson activities include sentence completion, games which improve speaking skills, Smart Board activities, listening to French songs and IT-based enrichment, such as the use of Kahoot. A game-based quiz platform, Kahoot increases student engagement in the lesson and reinforces the learning process with the positive use of competition between students.

French lessons become even more enjoyable as students dress up with items brought from home which reflect French culture to share their travel experiences and to “teach” the names of different clothing items. They learn about numbers during bingo games, cultural concepts through presentations about the country or cities, and benefit from longer retention of new vocabulary through memory games.
