Rumi’s Universal Invitation to “Become One” Echoed at TAC’s Art Exhibition
The art exhibition which showcases the artistic interpretation of the students of “whirling dervishes”, a product of the interdisciplinary project “Let Us Become One” was opened. It represents one leg of a more holistic study of the Sufism, Figure of Speech, Ornamentation encompassing Visual Arts and Turkish Literature. The study was complemented by a sufi talk.
We thank Tülay Okan, who reminded us the “symbols” in sufism and Rumi’s invitation to mankind to see with the “eyes of the heart” and to listen with the “ears of life”, our student Çağla Küpük for her short “whirling” performance, our Turkish literature teacher Tuba Karabağ who underlined the essence of meaning, Önder Şit and Gülay Damar for all their support. Despite all challenges and setbacks, we still continue to unite in the backdrop of the beautiful, abundant Anatolian land, echoing Rumi’s universal embrace “Come, come, whoever you are”. “Come and let us be united in love”.
