TAC Says No to Violence
TAC’s Psycho-Social Intervention Team has been working regularly since the beginning of the year to prevent violence and infractions and to raise community awareness about this issue. The second activity planned by the Team was to organize a talk for students about violence. Assoc. Prof. Dr. Ertuğrul Gödelek, instructor at Psychology Department of Mersin University, was, therefore, invited to the school to lead a panel.
At the panel, which was joined by students in Prep, grades 9, 10 and 11, Gödelek, through his appealing style of delivery, helped raise student awareness and determination to stamp out violence in every part of our lives. The most important themes of his talk addressed violence and psycho-social development, safe school environments and intervention for students who are prone to violence, violence in relationships, violence in family, and the training of families about this issue. Appropriate examples were given, and a question and answer session followed. The panel encouraged a better analysis of the concept of violence, which has been on the national and global agenda.
Here’s hoping for better and more peaceful days where we see no violence in our lives!
