TAC Success in the Social Studies Fair
Social Studies Fair, the biennial event which sees the participation of all SEV high schools, was hosted by UAA on May 15-16 this year. Five projects of TAC out of all those which were diligently prepared with attention to detail, were chosen to be worthy of recognition.
After a trinig trip to Istanbul on Friday, May 15, TAC group was welcomed by the warm hospitality of UAA administrators and teachers. Following the first introductions and a nice breakfast, the students of four sister schools, completed with the arrival of İzmir American Collegiate Institute and SEV American College, prepared their social studies project in the UAA sports hall. The jury panel was challenged in choosing the most successful project as each of them was worthy of recognition in at least one aspect. The passion and excitement of students as they made their presentations added to the rigor. Following the review of the projects by the jury panel, students departed the campus with their host families from UAA.
On Saturday morning, May 16, after a tour of the Beylerbeyi Palace, students were even more excited as they boarded the boat which would take them on a Boshporus cruise where the award ceremony would too be held. After this highlight, the TAC group said goodbyes to their new friends to get ready to take the plane back to Tarsus.
Tarsus American College and the Social Studies Department express their gratitude to the administrators, staff and students of UAA for making the group feel at home.
