TAC’s Young Parliamenterians at the 8th TED Istanbul National Forum
On February 10-14, 2017, TED Istanbul College hosted the 8th TİUF (TED Istanbul National Forum). The objective of the event was to raise the awareness of secondary school students about national problems by bringing together students from around Turkey who share a common educational philosophy, encouraging them to develop ideas and proposals for these problems together and to raise them as productive, self-confident individuals. The forum was attended by many reputable high schools coming from Istanbul and Anatolia.
During the four days of the forum, various student committees conducted brainstorming sessions, trying to find solutions to national and global problems.
On the first day, students who joined TİUF (TED Istanbul National Forum) had the opportunity to socialize while they discussed ways to address the issues in general terms. On the second day, they looked for solutions to pre-selected issues. The following day, they completed the writing work for the presentations at the forum. Pathways were developed about the specific issues and proposals for solutions. On the last day of the forum, students completed their work and finalized their draft directives, which were presented by spokespeople of each committee. Students discussed these directives in Q&A format, following which these drafts were put to vote.
At the 8th TİUF, TAC was represented by grade 11 students İnci Ovat, Güneş Sezer, Buket Gök and Ece Baz and grade 10 students Aden Aslan, Melis Vural, Deniz Koçak and Melis Çayan, and their teacher Ms. Gülay Damar. We thank our students and wish them continued success.
