Sowing the Seeds of Skit Day/Night at TAC
On March 31st, TAC hosted an event as part of “TAC Humor Days” which led to a reminiscence of its old days. The goal was ro revive one of the traditions, Skit Day/Night, and the event started with a performance prepared by the Mimesis Club. It was about a puppet show duel between two brothers. The human cast member, who appeared at the end, bringing the duel to an end, was a surprise for the audience.
During the event, the audience watched a video documentary about Skit Day/Night prepared by Alp Erdem, and then TAC’78 Ali Cerrahoğlu, TAC’82 Mustafa Özünlü, TAC’90 Ünsal Bayboğan and TAC’95 Çetin Çakmak shared their fond memories about Skit Day/Nights during their time at TAC, expressing their wish to see it continue. Dr. Ali Cerrahoğlu, the President of the Alumni Association, and TAC Principal, Günseli Yüksel, shared their support and excitement about this revival, and it is hoped that this introduction is carried on by the current students towards an institutionalized culture of skit performances in the long haul.
