TAC Success at the Social Studies Fair
The traditional biennial Social Studies Fair of the SEV high schools was hosted by Üsküdar American Academy this year on May 15-16. Five TAC projects were found worthy of recognition at the competition of many valuable and conscientiously prepared projects.
After a tiring flight on Friday, 15 May, TAC group received a warm welcome from the administrators and teachers of their sister school, Usküdar American Academy. Following the first introductions and a nice breakfast, the students of four schools were ready to present their projects at the sports hall. The Social Studies jury had difficulty in making their selections out of many who apparently were well-prepared and equally interesting. Following the evaluation of the jury panel, students departed the UAA campus with their host families.
On Saturday, 16 May, all participants were treated to a visit to Beylerbeyi Palace, followed by the Boshporus cruise which hosted the award ceremony. After two full days of activities and making new friends, the guest school students left for the airport.
TAC extends appreciation to all administrators, teachers and students of UAA for maintaining the atmosphere of an extended family during our visit to Istanbul and hopes to return their hospitality in near future.
