Another Amazing Prep Campout

On Friday, October 6, 2017, the prep students were very anxious for the end of class time, as that evening they would breathe the mystical air of their school under a starry Çukurova sky for the first time, accompanied by the unique fragrance of orange blossoms.

Our students started to set up their tents with the help of their teachers after a presentation in the Stickler Auditorium about the ground rules of camping. Some people were able to set up their tents in 15 minutes and some had to deal with that task for hours! But everyone persisted, and in the end, they had the tent-full of happiness.

After setting up the tents,  it was time for the funnest part: this was when the students heard the announcement, "The sports contests are about to begin!", and most of them ran to the green area. Some had fun while playing, and some, while watching.

By the time the games ended, students were hungry and it was a real treat to have kebab, lahmacun and ice-cream which the school prepared for them. After the meal, the Karaoke Event, held at the Stickler Auditorium, was really worth participating in, making the event even more memorable. We congratulate our friends who gathered their courage and made it to the stage.

For those students who tried to organize their teams for a week, there was also Football and Volleyball. There were matches with stiff competition. By the way, we congratulate Prep A, the champions of the Football games.

The students who were tired after the games, gathered around the campfire and enjoyed warm conversations and their marshmallows!

When the clock struck 00.00, it was time to sleep, and all our students unwillingly entered their tents. Here they realized how precious “tent chats” were and strengthened their peer relationships.

Students, who woke up to a bright morning, folded their tents and cleaned up the camping area.  It was time to go back home, and they did so while enjoying a breakfast of Tarsus simit and ayran.

We would like to thank all our teachers and all the students who joined the campout and made it a memorable night for all.

We hope to meet again in another Tent Camp event next year!
