8th Traditional Oktoberfest Celebration at TAC

TAC celebrated Oktoberfest with contributions from Goethe Institute this year.

TAC students were active participants of the “Deutschland im Koffer” activity which is a cultural exchange project sponsored by the Education Partnerships Division of Goethe Institute.

The aim of the activity was to teach the participants about Germany as they rotated through 8 stations, each station providing information about various aspects of German life, ranging from education, the economy, culture, arts, inventions by German scientists, German brands and celebrities. During the activity, students were divided into groups; they visited each station and were asked to provide answers to some questions about German life. The students in the winning group were presented small gifts. The TAC cafeteria also played a part in the German theme by serving meals which are common staples of German cuisine.

The activity, prepared by the Goethe Institute, drew the interest of TAC students, as is the case in other Schools around the world that have been visited by the “Deutschland im Koffer”.

The bell tune during the day, as well as the students in traditional costumes who were walking in the garden, were a constant reminder of the day’s theme. In addition, TAC was particularly pleased to host students and teachers from Tarsus Fatih Anatolian High School for this event.
