SEV Schools Vertical Curriculum Workshop for Social Studies
As part of the academic excellence motto of the Health and Education Foundation, the teachers and administrators of the schools affiliated with the Foundation joined a workshop in on December 22-23 to work on the curriculum for the delivery of Social Studies.
During the workshop, the curricula used for the course in A-12 levels were analyzed with regard to learning attainments, objectives, resources and materials, instructional methodologies, and assessment methods, and the necessary changes towards a better vertical articulation were identified. At the workshop, the importance of both summative and formative assessment, the enrichment of interdisciplinary activities, the need to transfer learning attainments into habits, as well as the need to encorporate 21st century skills was emphasized. The event provided an effective forum for teachers of social studies to get to know each other and share best practices.
