TAC EYP Club at the TEKUF
TED Kayseri College hosted the 4th instalment of the now-traditional TED Kayseri National Forum (TEKUF) on November 3-6 this year. Eighteen schools and 180 students from various cities in Turkey participated in the event.
From our school, 15 delegates, 2 journalists and 1 committee chair attended the conference, which follows the format of an EYP conference. During the four-day event, the delegates worked on finding solutions to the problems which concern Europe and Turkey. The journalists wrote articles and took photographs for the newspaper run daily, while the committee chairs presided over sessions with the delegates.
The first day of the conference saw various icebreaker games and on the second and third days the intense committee work continued. The drafts prepared by the delegates on the fourth day were presented at the General Assembly and were voted on. At the end of the 4th day, our students were sad to say goodbye to their new friends at TED Kayseri College.
Here are the thoughts of some of our students attending the event:
“It was obvious that this would be a fun-filled event even before we went. The general assembly, the committee chairs, the media and organizers team did everything possible to make sure everything worked smoothly, as we built new friendships and smiled a lot during the four days we spent there. Everything was so great and we thank our teachers, Gülay Damar and Şeniz Güner, for giving us this chance because they made sure that these four days were unforgettable.

The fourth TEKUF was an unforgettable experience where got to know each other in just a few days but felt as if we were parting from our childhood friends when we were saying goodbye. We played fun games while discussing the problems of the country and the world.

The fourth TEKUF was my first EYP experience. First of all, the reason for my participation in this conference was to have in-depth information about the EYP process. I am glad that I had this chance in the 4th year of the conference, as TEKUF has gathered experience and was well-organized. The fact that I was also interested in the topic of my committee helped make the conference more productive for me. At the same time, our committee chair guided us professionally as he had attended seventeen conferences before. I made many friends there, and I had a very productive four days, although the last day was very tiring. I hope that we meet again in similar academic conference. Greetings to all EYP friends!"
