TAC’s Great Success in Waterloo Mathematics Contests

 

Fryer, Galois and Hypatia Mathematics competitions, held annually by Waterloo University in Canada - one of the world's most prestigious universities, include open-ended questions on many topics of mathematics, and provides an opportunity to help develop student skills in mathematical synthesis, analysis and critical thinking on a global scale. These tests were taken by TAC’s grade 9, 10 and 11 students this year.

 

In the Fryer mathematics competitions, our 9th graders, Zeynep Ekin Yaycı, Deniz Istanbullu, Gülümser Aslı Kütük, Doğa İplik and Düzgün Can Güyıldar, ranked 18th among 143 teams participating in the international category and made the honor list in their team rankings.

 

Our 9th graders, Zeynep Ekin Yaycı, Deniz İstanbullu, Gülümser Aslı Kütük, Doğa İplik, Düzgün Can Güyıldar, Emir Gümürdülü and Rezan Bağcıoğlu made it to the student honor list in the Fryer while our 10th grader, Ege Bayram, made the honor list in the Galois mathematics competition.

Our prep and grade 9 students participating in the Fryer competitions were Zeynep Ekin Yayci, Deniz İstanbullu, Gülümser Aslı Kütük, Doğa İplik, Düzgün Can Güyıldar, Rezan Bağcıoğlu, Emir Gümürdülü, Ezgi Hazal Eşsizoğlu, Melikhan Bekir, Zeynep Nazlı Ceylan, Elif Bilge Akca, Zeynep Eylül Özdoğan, Elif İnan, Ekin Gedikoğlu, Ece Çobankara, Kaan Akkoyunlu.

 

Grade 10 students who entered the Galois competition were Ege Yüceel and Ege Bayram.

 

And finally, our grade 11 students who participated in the Hypatia competition, Ece Özer, Mert Yiğitbaşı, Emirhan Nasıf and Sena Erdinç made it in the global top 25 percentile, qualifying to receive a certificate of privilege among all test takers around the world.
