Trip to the World of Animals

TAC’s Second Foreign Language Department organized a tour of the Tarsus Zoo on April 24th for prep class students as part of the Field Day activities.

At our school, which places emphasis on experiential learning outside of the four walls of the classroom, students are always encouraged to engage in team work through collaborative activities. Students learned about animals brought from various parts of the world by learning their names in French and German.

Second foreign language teachers, who drew attention to animals and thousands of living creatures in the world we live in, stressed the importance of protecting animal rights. During this trip, students improved their teamwork skills and reached many learning objectives based on field study and observation, an essential component of education. They reinforced their learning of French and German by developing a project on animals brought from various parts of the world in their chosen second foreign language.

This trip was an interesting and meaningful learning venture for students, who developed their skills in research and collecting simple data, and it was a good opportunity for long term retention of the unit.
