To the Balkans Masters Athletics Championships
TAC sent a contingent to the Balkans Masters Athletics Championships, hosted in the city of Celje, Slovenia the weekend of Sept 21-23. Head of School Andrew Leathwood (javelin and 5000 m), Dr. Ali Cerrahoglu (high jump), Yeşim Cerrahoğlu (5000 m race walk), and Member of the Board of Directors Rasim Karakurt (high jump and 5000 m) represented the school and the SEV Foundation through substantial effort in individual sports. The TAC Team won a variety of medals in javelin, high jump, and race walk, reconnected with old friends from various Balkan countries and made new friends while competing at the event. While not competing, the group saw some of the beautiful Slovenian countryside and enjoyed a traditional Slovenian meal with friends of Andrew's. The lifelong athletes encourage all of our students, faculty, and graduates to remain physically active and healthy throughout their lives.
