Session on Industrial Design

Mr. Koray Hisarlı, TAC graduate of 2013 and 2018 Industrial Design major at METU, met with TAC’s 9th, 10th and 11th graders on Thursday, October 18 for an information session about his career. Industrial Design, which now has a different nature, requires different skills with the impetus of technology, and is gaining global importance every day. Its working areas include daily essentials such as medical sector, industry, automobile, as well as luxury areas of furniture and boat designs.

Hisarlı, who told the students about the course load from the freshmen year until graduation, drew attention to the skills which the students need to improve such as drawing and creativity. From his own designs, he shared concrete examples of how theory turns into practice.

Students who learned that they need to prepare a strong portfolio, as well as academic education, in order to be admitted to this program, which is becoming more popular in major universities in Turkey and the world, had the opportunity to ask very specific questions about what this professional area entails.

The career counseling activities organized by the Counseling Department will continue during the year in the direction of student needs and interests.
