Wishing a Happy Republic Day to the TAC Community!

Republic Day (October 29) assembly, prepared under the leadership of TAC’s Social Sciences Department, started with a Moment of Silence in memory of the Great Leader Mustafa Kemal Atatürk and his comrades, and singing the National Anthem.

The 95th anniversary of the radical steps taken by perseverance and determination towards an independent Republic was celebrated with great enthusiasm at TAC. The ceremony started with the anthems played by the Tarsus Municipality Band in the school yard, to which TAC students and teachers were singing along. Flags were distributed, a multitude of balloons were sent floating to the sky, following which the program in the auditorium started.

Principal Günseli Yüksel's meaningful speech was a scene to emotional moments for the audience. After her remarks, the oratorio, sung by students, recounting the heroes of the National Campaign for Independence was watched, with the enthusiasm increasing during the video prepared by 11th grade students “What Does Republic Mean?” Özgür Coşkun, who presented “The Republic Tree” encouraged the audience to look at Cumhuriyet from a different perspective.

The student drama performance about the proclamation of the Republic was again a culmination of patriotic feelings. The chorus of 9th grade students, directed by music teachers Aslı Son and Ayşegül Yıldıran, treated the audience to an amazing rendition of “O Freedom”. After Eren Yelken’s reciting the poem “Atatürk and Cumhuriyet”, the ceremony ended with the National Anthem.
