TAC Teachers Take Time to Prepare for the IELTS

On Saturday, December 8th, ten TAC teachers from various departments attended IELTS Training on campus.  The training was lead by Sevil Akın, an IELTS Trainer with the British Council and was organized by Mrs. Fatma Yiğitoğlu, TAC CAS Coordinator and English teacher. IELTS is the International English Language Testing System, an internationally recognized English language proficiency test which students take in Grade 11.   An IELTS score certifies an individual's level of English proficiency and is one step TAC students take in the process of applying to attend overseas universities.   The SEV Foundation requires teachers of English and bilingual math and science to receive training to understand better the IELTS exam which is divided into four-parts and assesses reading, writing, listening and the speaking portion which is delivered in front of an in-person examiner.
