Prep Project Promoting English Usage in Stickler
Prep and 11IB English teacher, Johanna Jacobsen, recently had her Preps E and F classes decorate the second-floor hall of Stickler. To create the posters Prep students used canva.com, an online graphic design program they learned to use in the technology class from IT Teacher Onur Subaşı. Each student was asked to create a poster promoting the use of English in the hallways of Stickler. Ms. Jacobsen used the project to remind her students about the value of practicing their English language skills outside of the classroom. As part of the mission of TAC, the teachers aim "to enable students to be strong bilinguals in English and Turkish." Developing bilingualism involves daily practice, and teachers encourage students to use English in Stickler and on campus.
