On March 6th, the 9th Grade Science Contest was held in Stickler Auditorium.  All 9th-grade students and many teachers were in attendance, and each class was represented on stage by a team of three students:

 

9A: Nil Miray Ergin, Yiğit Tutaş, Ömer Affan Soykök 

 

9B:  Doğa Bölükbaşı, Zeynep Eylül Tuncay, Ramazan Bulut

 

9C:  Yağız Kaan İdilman, Selin Ok, Yiğit Ali Yurtseven

 

9D: Mustafa Safa Yücel, Ali Efe Özdemir, Mert Erdem

 

9E: Beste Yazdıçutan, Damla Duman, Ahmet Akif Can

 

9F: Güneş Doğan, Öncel Aldanmaz, Deniz Kandemir

 

The teams solved questions in biology, chemistry, and physics that had been prepared by their subject teachers while classmates loudly cheered from the audience.  It was an exciting and tense contest covering difficult material with a one-minute per question time limit. Upon completing all four contest rounds, three teams tied for the lead.  The groups representing 9A, 9D, and 9F moved on to a tense tie-breaking round, and after the first question, 9A team were victorious. 

 

The winning team will be presented with award certificates at the weekly flag ceremony on Friday, and the entire 9A class will also receive a prize.  The Science Department, lead by Head of Department, Mr. Mark Pfeifer organized this event.
