“Turkish youth! Young people of Turkey who are committed to my goals for the future! I'm very glad and happy that I will leave this country to a youth who understands me like  you do.”

                                                                                                           (Mustafa Kemal Atatürk)

During a very remarkable assembly organized by the Turkish Literature and Physical Education departments, TAC enthusiastically celebrated the centennial of the salvation and establisment of Turkey as an independent republic.

At the event which addressed the themes of resurrection and the rise of the Turkish people following the collective national battle on May 19, 1919, it was emphasized that we, as Turkish youth, are the eternal guardians of Atatürk's legacy to the Turkish youth. The performance of the percussion group led by their music teacher was exciting. The “basketball rhythm show” of basketball athletes prepared by PE teachers added color to the celebration. The youth of Mustafa Kemal Atatürk, avid supporter of sports and arts, enthusiastically demonstrated their talents in different branches. D & S Dance Academy contributed to this colurful celebration by captivating the audience with their professional modern dance show by Turkish champions. Emotions were as intense as a poem by Nazim Hikmet, titled “Kuvâyi Milliye” was read by Esat Tuna Erdağı while another student, Mert Okuyaz accompanied the poem with music of his own composition. There was a big applause as the image of a dove was gradually lowered from the ceiling towards the stage during a video stressing the theme of “peace”.

The ceremony continued with various sports activities and dance performances on campus.
