School-Parent Interaction Meeting on “Addictions”

The series of school-parent interaction meetings organized by TAC’s Counseling Department continued with "Addictions". The presenters were. Kardeniz Türkmen and İlker Kaba, the school’s guidance counselors. In the session, transition from childhood to adolescence and addictions were explored. The areas of addiction which were emphasized were tobacco, alcohol, substances (drugs) and technology.

The active participation of our parents and their providing examples from their lives and families enriched the meeting and made it more dynamic. The psychological counselors who conducted the study answered parent questions and drew attention to the adolescent behaviors that can be observed in the students and possible links with an addiction by using examples. In the session, the role of parents in communication was also discussed.
